Why Should a Giant Dog Care About Flea Bites?

December 6, 2009

An American friend was irate regarding Noble Peace Prize Committee's selecting Carter, Krugman, Gore, & Obama, who are American "figures who excessively care about the way foreign nations view them" (in her words). I grabbed the opportunity for the soapbox here. I responded to her immediately the following: Ok, why should a giant dog care too much about a flea bite? Or two or three? Come on, there are more things to bare those teeth at, than just the Nobel Prize Committee's obvious biases....

Terms to Terminate Medical Marijuana Services: Caregivers v. Providers

The term "caregiver" is not reasonable for what medical marijuana providers and dispensaries do for their patients. My mom is a caregiver. She helps people bathe, makes sure they take their meds, lives with them to cook, clean, and do everything else to make her patients' lives better. But she does not know anything about marijuana, benefits of it, growing it, etc. Here is the problem I want everyone to consider. Dispensaries and medical marijuana providers can never fill the services that my mom provides. And my mom cannot provide what the dispensaries do for the patients--which is, in most cases, more than just provide medicine, but a host of other services. These are specialized, separate type of services!

OK, so you’re one of 97% of pollsters who think it should be a felony for people to hold dogfights, because violence and cruelty against animals for mere entertainment should be punished. What if a dogfight was held for filming a movie? Ok, so you boycott the movie or vote to charge the producers and the director for felony or a misdemeanor, because the stunt-dogs might suffer physical harm for mere entertainment. What if the dogfight was held for purposes of filming for a documentary? Would you press felony charges on the producers, or would a possible educational value alleviate the offense? Well, it depends on what's being labeled a dogfight.
