Why Should a Giant Dog Care About Flea Bites?

An American friend was irate regarding Noble Peace Prize Committee’s selecting Carter, Krugman, Gore, & Obama, who are American “figures who excessively care about the way foreign nations view them” (in her words).
I grabbed the opportunity for the soapbox here. I responded to her immediately the following: Ok, why should a giant dog care too much about a flea bite? Or two or three? Come on, there are more things to bare those teeth at, than just the Nobel Prize Committee’s obvious biases….
